Battle Cry Of The Online Warrior
Complacency.
This warrior’s greatest inner demon, to date.
The worm that had eaten through the toughest of woods, if character had been a tree.
A scourge which had doused the smoldering embers of burning fires in him. The same fire that is a hallmark of any true warrior.
He had erred.
He had forgotten he was the scion of a noble warrior lineage.
The Rajpoots.
The fiercest, greatest and bravest warriors in Mughal Empire’s massive and sub continent-dominating armies.
Defeated. Not from outside, but surprisingly, from within.
He had effectively erased that which was his heritage and birth-right; to FIGHT till the END.
Looking introspectively, instead of finding steely determination, he recoiled from his tendency to cower from the slightest of mishaps.
He had grown fat on the sinews he had earned rightfully from the hardest of physical pursuits.
A penchant for pursuing fruitless, meaningless distractions had supplanted the crucial survival instinct.
Hunger had simply dulled to a soothing, rotting satisfaction with the status quo.
Which of course, had effectively snubbed even the smallest traces of the warrior out of existence.
Then realisation dawned, and the sun of ignorance finally set, never to rise again.
The morphing warrior fought for re-emergence, and strove to dominate the dark, shadowy regions of the under-mind.
Probing the vast expanses of unknown walls blindly, he found a switch. And pressed.
Sudden warmth pulsed through disused limbs, slowly regaining functionality.
A slothful mound of consciousness then slowly awakened.
Breathing the fresh air of freedom, every cell, sinew and fiber screamed for release, from which there was no turning back now.
The dawn of freedom was at last at hand!
Finally, our warrior reattains that which had been his birthright. To fight.
He only saw a single goal now, after reality had coalesced into a focal point.
All obstacles became mere dust scattering beneath his powerful legs, surging forward in an adrenaline rush of battle fury. The broad sword, which was an extension of his arm, felt snug and comfortable.
Brandishing it, he roared his defiance to the world, lion-like.
“I DARE YOU!”
“I dare you to make even a dent in me!” he boomed. “I’ll give you a hell of a fight! HA HA HA!!”
By now, the transformation was complete. The warrior was a perfect picture of calm, foreboding a dark storm to come. Tingling with a new lease of life, he was more than ready for the skirmish.
Nay, it was a war he was actually fighting.
With the first clang of steel, he transformed into a lean, mean killing machine. Shouting clan battle cries, his berserk senses swam with the heady intoxication of battle.
Then, he saw freedom.
Impossibly near. Beckoning, oh so seductively! The ultimate destination he could have ever wished for!
And then he reached for it.
And found.
Me.
Staring in the mirror, at myself!
I just described here my earliest inner demons I overcame, in an original, story-based format. Realisation, action and then transformation. That was the key to me succeeding in my battle. How about you? What inner battles do you fight? Do you seek help doing that? Have you overcome them? And share this post now with your Twitter and FB friends by clicking on the share buttons below.

Yasser,
That story was amazing and it fits right in with the ‘Love on Valentine’s Day’ radio show I just did this morning.
It is all about self-love and I invite the listener to look in the mirror and say, “I love you.” and all sorts of other loving messages to yourself. My approach is to gently love yourself, to have foregiveness and compassion and adoration for yourself. Your approach is to be the powerful warrior, ready to take on the world without flinching.
In the end, each of us finds our own self. Please listen to my 14 minute radio show, if you have a moment, at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/drerica/2011/02/14/love-on-valentines-day
And by the way, Happy Valentine’s Day.
Warmly,
Erica

Hi Yasser,
We do all have our inner demons to battle with.
Good to see you have conquered yours.
Thanks for the visit to my blog.

Hey Bryan!
Great to hear from you.
Typically, all our lives we’re doing just that; fighting inner demons. Robert Kiyosaki himself admitted such a long battle as well. The result of him winning was simply financial freedom. Freedom, when you overcome them; Slavery if they do.

Hi Yasser,
Wow! You’re quite the story teller. We are all online warriors waging our own battles to break away from our own self defeating inner complacency. To strike out on your own is so difficult and our minds often tell us we’re wasting our time, don’t they!?!
While I was determined to succeed online, of course I fought battles with myself too. One of my favorite quotes is…
“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal.” ~ Henry Ford.
Let’s all keep our eyes on the goal!

Hi Deb!
Yes, stories do bring home a message powerfully.
I do love Henry Ford’s quotes, and this one especially is extremely pertinent to complacency.
Here’s to killing the inner demons!

Yasser!
This is my first time on your blog and I was blown away at your writting style. A great story about conquering your personal demons.
I think complacency affects a lot of people. I believe we should be growing and learning all throughout our lives.
I will be back here to check on what you are doing next!

So beautiful, Yasser.
Captivating.
Thank you for sharing. I think we can all relate to this story.
We are all warriors, and will face times when we lose focus, confidence, etc. and have to make a choice ~ recoil in defeat…or we can, just as you did, realize the reality of our situation, take massive action and re-emerge as our transformed, evolved, even more powerful warrior selves.
I have had a few chapters of this journey myself, and am so grateful for them despite the pain they caused in the moment.
The pleasure of the warriors path is by far worth the trials of the journey.
Thank you for this!

Beth,
Am truly flattered!
Yeah! Nothing beats being a warrior and totally being in control of your destiny, and the sweet relief of taming adversity!

That is an interesting post. I like how you compare dealing with the mental torment of building your business through the internet in order to succeed. Sometimes the biggest challenge in building your business is yourself. We really do all fight a war with our internal demons.

Andy,
Yes, that’s the entire point of personal development; waging wars with inner demons and overcoming them to be the best you can be!

Steve,
Yes, this was one of my earliest battle I had to fight actually.
I do appreciate your frankness! We all face daily battles too.

Loved the story!
The metaphor of the warrior is a great one. It’s so true that this battle has to be fought.
The way you wrote it, it seemed as though it was a one time deal for you.
However, for myself the battle is a daily one. I do think there are watershed moments, where we wrestle and wrestle, and overcome, but there are also ordinary every day demons.
Robert Kiyosaki, in his book, Increase Your Financial IQ, states that he learned the most from the problems that arose as he worked to build passive income: in the furnace, he developed the mindset of the Warrior.
